    A One-of-a-Kind Journey
Full of movement and sway, this 1940's necklace epitomizes an era of playful design and imagination. Czech made, this piece is unique for its combination of materials into a colorful and cheery silhouette. A rainbow of wood flowers adorn the end of the cork pendants that dangle freely from the cream colored celluloid chain.  While this piece is full and eye-catching when worn, its weight and feel is airy and buoyant.
    Condition Report
    Very good.
This piece is fresh looking and must have been tucked away and well
taken care of, the signs of wear are noticeable only on close inspection.
The wood is smooth and glossy looking without any chipping or surface wear and the paint is bright and colorful.
There is a little bit of chipping to the cork, some spots look like the original cut of cork and other spots appear to be from wear.
The strand is firm and symmetrical without anything missing and all of the components look original.
There are no irregularities to the setting or signs of solder or repair and the piece has a firm shape.

    lector Note
    On Movement In Jewelry.
Movement in jewelry is an indicator of a higher end piece, as it demonstrates that the designer considered how the jewelry would look and feel when it was actually worn. For example, high-end pieces often adjust to different necklines or wrists for comfort and a seamless look. Other times, movement is strategically incorporated for gemstones to catch the light or to enhance the sparkle of a certain gemstone cut.
    On Retro.
Retro jewelry is not only from a specific time period, the late 1930’s - 1940’s, but has distinct influences and details in the design that make it retro. Big and bold silhouettes, from the bombe ring to ludo bracelets, took a masculine turn during the war and were sometimes done in faux gemstones and alloys due to rations on fine metals. Gas pipe chains, buckle motifs and oversized brooches all played a prominent part in the retro period.
