Mil-Dot Reticle in the Second Focal Plane
The Mil-Dot reticle features four posts and fine cross hairs with dots. The dots can be used to gage distance to a target of a known size by employing the Mil-Dot distance-ranging system. Second focal plane placement of the reticle maintains its size throughout the magnification range.
